He was 80 years old at the time of his passing. Mr. Positano called Watervliet home for many years before making the trip to Florida.
He was the son of Nicola and Maddalena Positano, who had both passed away before he was born. He was born in Italy. His parents had both passed away before he was born. After arriving in the United States from Italy in 1949, he first made his home in Watervliet. In 1962, he relocated to Linden, New Jersey, and in 1988, he made his home in New Port Richey, Florida. His journey began in Italy and took him all the way to the United States. The only members of Tony’s family to have survived his passing are his cherished wife Barbara Loesel Positano of Florida, his son Nicholas J.
Positano of Mechanicville, his brother Mario Positano of Albany, and his three sisters Maria Frenken of Germany, Michaelina Pappiacio of Italy, and Antoinette Malinicoico of Italy. In addition, he leaves behind one granddaughter as well as a number of nieces and nephews on both sides of the family. On the 10th of January in 2004, following the funeral and burial rites that were held in New Port Richey, Florida, in his honor, Tony was laid to rest there.
