Pat Crorkin Obituary, Death Cause – I am writing to inform you of the demise of Pat Crorkin with a heavy heart. On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the age of 83, Patrick J. Crorkin, most recently of Brick Township and formerly of the Bronx, passed away at his residence. He was lately of Brick Township. Pat was born in the Bronx, lived and worked for many decades in the Throggs Neck community, and began spending his retirement years in the Brick community with his lovely wife MaryAnn some 23 years ago. Before that, Pat spent his whole life in the Bronx, including his childhood, where he was raised. Pat served for 26 years in the FDNY before retiring in 1989. During the “War Years” of the late 1960s and early 1970s, he was a Hero Fireman in Harlem for the New York City Fire Department.
Pat was a member of the Elks and the Moose Lodge in Point Pleasant, both of which are local organizations in the state of New Jersey. Throughout his entire life, Pat was a passionate angler. He spent a lot of time fishing in the Bronx and further east in Montauk before he brought his fishing rods and reels to the Jersey Shore. In addition, Pat was an avid golfer who spent most of his time participating in tournaments. Pat had a way about him that was uncomplicated, straightforward, and easy to understand at all times. He rarely used euphemisms and said things just as he saw them.
In spite of the fact that Pat had a habit of appearing to moan about a variety of issues, it was abundantly clear that Pat loved his wife and family more than anything else, and he was a treasured friend to a large number of people who had been friends with him for a lifetime. Everyone who knew and loved Pat will suffer a profound loss with his passing. Pat is survived by his devoted wife MaryAnn Crorkin (nee Klyberg), his cherished daughter Coleen O’Flanagan and her husband John O’Flanagan, his beloved son Patrick Crorkin and his wife Christine Crorkin, his devoted sister Margaret Dixon, and his adoring grandchildren Kelsie (and fiancĂ© Chris Rockwell), Patrick (and wife Jenna), Michael, and Kelly. Pat is also survived by his devoted sister Margaret Dixon.
