Onell Coon Obituary, Death Cause – It is with great sadness that we share the news of Onell Ham Coon’s demise. She was 89 years old and resided in Elba, Alabama. At Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp, Alabama, on September 2nd, 2023, Onell passed away without any discomfort. She was a cherished member of her community and will be sorely missed by many people there. A memorial service honoring Onell’s life will be conducted in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 10:00 AM, with Reverend Ken Wilson serving as the officiant. The service will be held in memory of Onell.
Onell’s loving son, David (Jan) Coon of Elba, Alabama, as well as her sisters, Marie Miller and Betty (Quinton) Roberts, both of Opp, Alabama, are among those who are able to carry on her legacy. Her family and friends, along with anyone else who had the honor of knowing her, will always hold her memory dear. Onell’s beloved husband, Charles A. Coon, her parents, Mildred Guy and Charlie Ham, her son, Steve Coon, and both of her brothers, Finley Ham and Kimmey Ham, all passed away before she did. In addition to her own passing, Onell was predeceased by her husband. Her brother-in-law Joe Miller also passed away before her.
He was another person who died before she did. During their time of grief, the Coon family has entrusted their needs to the care of the Hayes Funeral Home in Elba, Alabama. Love, family, and belonging were defining aspects of Onell Ham Coon’s life, and those are the aspects that will be engraved in our memories of her. Those who are still grieving her loss will find solace and comfort in her eternal spirit even after she has passed away.
