Michael Mcgivney Obituary, Death Cause – With heavy hearts, we gather to remember and honor the life of Michael Patrick “Hoss” McGivney, who left us unexpectedly on Monday, August 28, 2023, at the young age of 21. Michael, a lifelong resident of Aurora, IL, brought joy and love to the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Michael was born on November 13, 2001, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, a beloved son of Dr. Thomas and Kimberly (nee Yanssens) McGivney. He was a loving brother to Madison, Dylan, and Riley McGivney, and his presence in their lives was a source of joy and companionship. He held a special place in the hearts of his family, being the cherished grandson of the late Barbara and Neil McGivney and the late Joyce and Ernest Yanssens.
Michael’s journey through life included his education at Annunciation B.V.M. Catholic Church Grade School and SS. Peter & Paul Grade School in Naperville, and he graduated from Benet Academy in Lisle, IL, as a proud member of the Class of 2020. During his time at Benet Academy, he made his mark as a four-year member of the varsity football team, where he achieved All Conference status as a captain. Beyond his accomplishments, Michael’s warmth, kindness, and camaraderie left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was a friend to many and shared countless treasured moments with loved ones.
As we come to terms with the loss of Michael Patrick “Hoss” McGivney, we offer our deepest condolences and prayers to his family and friends. Michael was also a dear nephew of Dr. Randall (Suzanne) McGivney, Karen McGivney, and Tracey (Steve) Klein; Tracy (Steve) Trump. He shared close bonds with his cousins and great-nephews and nieces, and his love extended throughout his extended family.
