Maxie McCutcheon Obituary, A Life Dedicated To Service

Maxie McCutcheon Obituary, Death Cause – God rest your soul To Maxie. We mourn the loss of our dedicated DRAF member, Maxie Elwood McCutcheon, who passed away on September 2, 2023 at the age of 58 and was from Florence. He left this world in peace. Our hearts are heavy as we express our condolences. Maxie was a treasured member of our community, and we will feel a profound void in our midst without him here. Mr. McCutcheon was the son of Elwood McCutcheon and Sara Moore McCutcheon, both of whom have now passed away. He was born in Florence, South Carolina. He served his country honorably in the military and enjoyed drag racing and piloting drones in his spare time.

Maxie is survived by his devoted wife, Terry McCutcheon, who was there for him throughout his entire life, sharing in his joys and providing support. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Robin (Parker) Day, Theresa (Paul) Mundt, and Mary (Chris) Clark. His brother, Ronnie (Kenn) McCutcheon, and his stepdaughters also survive him. His grandchildren, Tyler Wilson, Christopher Clark, Caitlin Clark, Logan Howard, William Mundt, and Lincoln Howard, will carry the memories of their grandfather, Maxie, with them throughout their lives. In lieu of sending flowers, the family respectfully begs that memorial contributions be sent to the Hope Lodge Cancer House. This is a facility that offers emotional support and comfort to people who are battling cancer.

At the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, friends and relatives will be received to pay tribute to the life of Maxie and give condolences to the family. On September 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM, a graveside service will be held in Florence Memorial Gardens to pay honor to Maxie’s life and legacy. The service will take place at Florence Memorial Gardens. The memory of Maxie Elwood McCutcheon will live on indelibly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved him. His fervor, warmth, and presence will be sorely missed, but his legacy will continue to bring all of us peace and solace as we go through this difficult time.
