Kourtny DeForitis Obituary, Death Cause- Chief David Enos has, with the highest and most profound grief, brought to everyone’s attention the untimely death of Patrolwoman Kourtny DeForitis. This is something that has been brought to everyone’s attention by the Chief. During the early morning hours of September 9, 2023, Ptlw. DeForitis was a passenger on a motorcycle that was involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident in Somerset, Massachusetts. The collision occurred during the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred when no one was on duty. Ptlw.
DeForitis has been a member of the Seekonk Police Department for slightly less than three years. He joined the department in 2022 after completing his training at the Cape Cod Municipal Police Academy in 2021. Since that time, she has been employed by the Patrol Division as a community outreach officer, where she has demonstrated a high level of competence in the many varied responsibilities she has been given. Kourtny held a special place in her heart for the children and adolescents of Seekonk, and she was usually seen engaging in lighthearted banter with them at community events and in the local schools.
This was evidenced by the fact that she was frequently observed doing so. She did so with a gleaming smile on her face and a hearty chuckle emanating from her gut. We are heartbroken over the loss of one of our own, Ptlw. DeForitis, and we extend our most sincere condolences to his family and friends. The members of the Seekonk Police Department would like to express their deepest sympathies to Ptlw. DeForitis’ family and friends following his passing.
