Kate Gosselin eventually made her public debut after her son Collin blamed her for his estrangement from several of his siblings. In a long social media post, the former Jon & Kate Plus 8 actor responded by claiming that Collin has a history of violently behaving toward his family. I hate being in a bind where I have no choice but to do what is expected of me.
On July 21, Kate posted to Instagram, “I have to stand up right now and I really hate saying that.Collin, my cherished son, has been diagnosed with a variety of mental health issues over the years. After years of inadequate outpatient treatment, he was admitted to a facility for his own safety and that of his siblings and family. Kate and her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, are the parents of Mady and Cara, who are 22 years old, and their sextuplets, Collin, Hannah, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel, who are 19 years old.
Even after Collin’s 2016 hospitalization, Kate says his conduct hasn’t improved. Colin and Hannah’s sister are Jon and Hannah’s roommates as of 2018. After Jon pulled Collin out of therapy, she said, he continued to act erratically and hostilely toward Jon, Hannah, and others on a frequent basis. One issue is that Colin has always had trouble seeing things as they really are.
Complete fabrications are unusual, but many people with family members with mental health concerns can attest to how unsettling it is when they do occur. When asked to elaborate, Kate said, “This is just another painful part of this fight.” My family’s story was chronicled on TLC from 2007 until 2017. The woman, 48 years old, denied any wrongdoing but acknowledged that it would be hard for others to understand conditions when mental illness is rampant.
She also pointed out that some people might have trouble following the conversations between parents and their kids. The ex-reality star claims that “all measures that were taken in our home were at the explicit recommendation of his pediatric psychiatrist and/or his team of specialists” and were implemented to ensure the safety of everyone in the household, including the former star’s friends, family, and pets. Kate is under the impression that nothing has changed since she last spoke with Collin.
I still think Collin is a really troubled young kid who needs a lot of help,” she stated. There was a “history of unpredictable behavior and violent tendencies towards us,” he claimed, so “his brothers and sisters and I have not been directly involved in his life.” He said, “I think my mom kind of drove a social barrier between us,” in the “Jon & Kate: Family Circus” episode of Vice TV’s Dark Side of the 2000s, as reported by Page Six. She elaborated on the events, but it was clear that my perspective differed.
When reflecting on his past actions, Collin acknowledged that he was not a “perfect child,” but he reasoned that his poor behavior “was no different from that of my siblings.”” Collin is eager to help out if it means he and his siblings can make up in the future. “I really, truly hope one day we can all come together and put the show behind us and just be siblings again, and take back that time we didn’t have,” the recent high school graduate stated.
Jon discussed his time spent with Mady, Cara, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel, all of whom were in Kate’s care after their 2009 divorce, in the same episode of Dark Side of the 2000s. He said, “I have no contact with the children I abandoned.” These have, for some reason, mysteriously ceased appearing. Definitely, I don’t know what to say. That’s the worst of it. Kate isn’t the only family member to weigh in on the film’s accusations, either. After the episode aired, Mady confronted Collin about his comments regarding their family.
At a press conference on July 20, she reportedly said, “I do not owe my allegiance to any person(s) who have physically threatened me and every member of my immediate family (some incidents as recent as last year)”. Moreover, I solemnly pledge that I will never again associate with anyone who has used violence or treated others poorly on the basis of their race, gender, or religion.
Jon stated of Collin, after his daughter told People about him, “It took courage for Collin to sit down and speak about his background, and the last thing I would have anticipated is more abuse coming his way from a brother who hasn’t seen or spoken to him since he was in sixth grade.” Kate, Collin, Hannah, and Mady’s management as well as Jon’s management have all been approached by E! News, but none of them have commented.
