Early this morning, David left us due to unforeseen medical reasons, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, service, and the indelible mark of a true hero. David’s journey with the St. Croix Falls Fire Department was marked by enthusiasm and a commitment to serving his community. He eagerly embraced his role as a firefighter, taking every opportunity for training and certification. His dedication and passion for his work were reflected in the pride he took in wearing his helmet shield with the number #88.
Recently, David was honored with the “2023 Dedication Award,” recognizing his commendable and unwavering service to the St. Croix Falls Fire Department and the communities it serves. The award aptly stated, “Never forget the difference you make every day!” His contributions will forever be remembered and cherished. David’s journey to our fire department came after his retirement as a postmaster for the United States Postal Service. Not content with resting, he chose to continue serving his community as a bus driver for the St. Croix Falls School District. Every day, he made the children he transported feel special, instilling in them the belief that they could achieve anything. His encouragement had that effect on all of us he made us feel capable and inspired.
